The factories were demolished and only a few signs show the otiginal perimeter of the complex.
 
History:
 
Peng Chau was once a hive of matchsticks production. The match industry was begun by Liu Hong Sheng,  known as the 'Match King’ from Shanghai. The factories were built in the 1930s, and developed into large-scale production on the island. The factories took up nearly 1/6 of the island, from the north-west to north-east part of Peng Chau.
 
The match industry came to an end when low price lighters were introduced to Hong Kong.

Tips:

1. It is near the farms.You may look for the signs.

2. Do not cause damage to the          historic site.

3. Do not pick up the signs.
